HELLAVISION
TELEVISION
ANIMATION
SHOW

Hellavision Television Animation Show is an initiative that was began by Peter Steineck back in 2017. It was made to be a platform for burgeoning animators to cut their teeth and try things they might not dare to otherwise. Peter encouraged the community to cut corners. Hellavision received funding from the Visual Arts Fund and Peter and I teamed up to host free screenings at Trylon Cinema. Hellavision was one of the best animation experiences of my career, and I’m proud of each of my entries, which you can see below.

Hellavision Television Animation Show Episode 8

Kalen and I are longtime friends with a lot of overlapping interests. Strangely though, we haven’t collaborated a whole lot. Shortly after telling him about HVTV we decided to make something together. We started with some rough sketches. We went for a walk and took some late night video of trees in the park. I don’t exactly remember how we landed on ‘Intern’ but I’m super happy with the overall look and feel. I think it teases at the weight we were both feeling about the climate crisis at the time, and maybe some longing for nature.
